Eaton HK presents the third iteration of UNHEARD Sound and Music Festival, a unique festival hosted in partnership with Contemporary Musiking HK and dtby that explores the essence of sound and music through a series of live performances, talks, workshops and screenings.
Just as the vast spectrum of human hearing spans from the resonances of 20Hz to 20kHz, our individual interpretations and encounters with sound exhibit remarkable diversity and distinctiveness. A sound that resonates with one soul may stir aversion in another, while seemingly commonplace sounds—often overlooked as noise and rendered unheard by some—may possess the power to evoke the deepest sensibilities of certain individuals.
This year, the festival will further investigate this spectrum of everyday relationships with sound through music-making and listening devices, sonic world-building, the role of 3D modeling and electronics in modern music technology, and the interplay of mediums. Furthermore, there will be curated live performances and screenings of music documentaries, panels on the experimental music scene in China, the sound of the diaspora as well as a listening and storytelling session by members of the Deaf community and an interactive DIY radio installation by neurodivergent artists.
Joined by pioneering musicians in the local music scene including SOPHY, SPORA, cehryl, hirsk, as well as a select group of sound artists, composers and art critics from here and abroad, including Amy Chan, Eric Wong, Hui Ye, Kanta Horio, Kin Lam and Rafaele Andrade, the festival will span two weekends and promises to offer something for everyone to enjoy.
逸東酒店隆重呈獻第三屆「UNHEARD聲音祭」，一場與現在音樂和dtby合作的獨特聲音祭。透過一系列現場表演、講座、工作坊和放映，我們將一同探索聲音與音樂的本質。
就如同人類聽覺範圍從20Hz到20kHz般廣泛，個人對聲音的詮釋和體驗展現了驚人的多樣性和獨特性。某聲音或許觸動了某人的靈魂，卻引起另一人的反感；而那些看似平凡的聲音，常被視為噪音甚或被自動過濾掉，卻有可能喚起某些人最深層的情感。
今年的音樂節將更深入地探索與日常聲音的關係，了解技術如何改變我們創作和聆聽音樂的方式，包括音樂創作和聆聽裝置、如何用聲音構建一個世界、現代音樂技術中3D建模和電子元素的角色，以及不同媒介之間的互動。此外，還將有精心策劃的現場表演和音樂紀錄片放映，探討中國實驗音樂場景、移民音樂家的聲音，並有由聾人社區成員進行的故事分享。還有由神經多樣性藝術家打造的互動DIY電台裝置。
此次音樂節將有本地及海外音樂界的先鋒音樂家SOPHY、SPORA、cehryl、hirsk等傑出音樂人，以及來自海外的一批聲音藝術家、作曲家和藝術評論家，包括陳一云、Eric Wong、葉慧、Kanta Horio、林建霖和Rafaele Andrade等。音樂節將持續兩個週末，為每位參與者帶來無盡的享受。
