They say all good things would come to an end at some point — indeed, it’s time to wrap up Sonic Anchor on a high (and loud!) note.
The last edition of Sonic Anchor is joined by artists from the Push the ENVELOPE sound art initiative (2023-24): Pete Yu, Dmitry Po, Cheri Tang , Andy Kwan, space_bar_presser, Tina Yeung, Timothy Choi and Preston Lui. Many of these artists launched their practices through PTE, and we are curious and excited to hear what they’ve been up to since!
Pete Yu will transform the McAulay Studio into a resonant body with an installation of acoustic instruments and speakers. Dmitry and Cheri will take us through a digital meditation by combining their individual practices of blending natural materials into an ambient soundscape. Andy Kwan and his group (space_bar_presser, Tina Yeung, Timothy Choi and Preston Lui) will turn sound into a game of frequency, creating a retrospective of sound-making by reducing them into the barest possible form.

最後一場的聲音下寨將由一眾推信封聲音藝術推廣計畫 (2023-24) 的參加者﹕余廷暉、Dmitry Po、鄧芷蔚、Andy Kwan、space_bar_presser、楊燕婷 、 蔡敬謙及Preston Lui 參與演出。他們有不少人都是透過推信封開始他們的藝術實踐的，到底一年之後他們發展如何呢?
余廷暉將以不同樂器及喇叭組成的聲音裝置，將麥高利小劇場轉化為一個巨大的共鳴箱；Dmitry 及鄧芷蔚將二人各自的藝術實踐融合，混合不同的天然物料到環境音景之中，引領我們到一個電子的冥想之中；Andy Kwan、space_bar_presser、楊燕婷、 蔡敬謙及Preston Lui 的組合將用聲音頻率玩遊戲，透過將聲音抽絲剝繭成最簡化的形式創建一個聲音製作的回顧。
