Toby x Estelle Tse x Tim Chan
The 2024-25 Sonic Anchor season opens with 2 distinctive performances by three artists from different backgrounds. Tim Chan brings a performance that bridges his practices in sound and photography. Incorporating theatrical elements, he explores the use of photographs as musical scores. Toby Tang and Estelle Tse present a performance utilizing stethoscopes to amplify sounds produced within the human body. This performance examines the dialogue between intentional and unintentional bodily sounds from both artists, revealing underlying rhythms and noises that are typically unnoticed.

About the artists
Toby
Toby is a participant in 2023 Push The Envelope Sound Art Initiative Summer Camp and 2024 Push The Envelope Soundthing Lab. Currently studying in Bachelor of Arts of School of Creative Media, she has expanded her artistic practice since discovering sound art. Her work has expanded beyond a single medium, evolving into an exploration of the connections between the body and memory in the field. Her work emphasizes the integration of emotion and warmth, making observation and sharing an integral part of her daily artistic practice.
Estelle Tse
Estelle unfolds the dislocation and deviation between oneself and the external world through media such as prose poetry, painting, photography, video, performance, and installations. She explores the liminality between consciousness and the body, experience as the tenor to read a body as a field.
Since 2020, she has been working as a life model, exploring bodily perception. She has also been involved in gender education as well as curatorial work. She is currently furthering her artistic practices through her study of Bachelor of Arts in Creative Media atCity University of Hong Kong, where she wanders between the diversity of media.
Tim Chan
Tim Chan, a Hong Kong based composer. Making automated industrial machines for a living. He likes drinking Earl Gray tea and watching Iron Man. Recently he is obsessed with film photography.
2024-25年度的首場聲音下寨將以三位來自不同背景的藝術家帶來兩個獨特表演。陳庭章將在他的演出中嘗試融合他擅長的兩個創作媒介 - 攝影和聲音。 演出結合劇場元素，他將探索把照片作為樂譜的可能。 鄧善之和謝詠斯則帶來一個利用聽診器放大人體內聲音的作品。 兩位藝術家以有意與無意產生的身體聲音對話，並透過審視這些對話，探索常被人們忽視的內在節奏和聲響。
本場聲音下寨演出由楊俊策畫。
鄧善之是2023年度推信封聲音藝術推廣計劃夏令營及2024推信封實驗室的參加者，目前就讀香港城市大學創意媒體文學士。自接觸聲音藝術以來，她的創作不再局限於單一媒介，而是一個探索身體與記憶於場域連結的過程。她的作品注重將情感與溫度融入藝術創作，並使觀察與分享的過程成為她日常創作的一部分。
謝詠斯的作品以自身與外界的錯位和偏移展開，創作媒介不限於散文詩、繪畫、攝影、錄像、行為、裝置等，描繪意識與身體之間的閾限性，以經驗作為本體，身體作為文本和場域。
由2020年開始作為 Life model，持續對於身體感知的探索，並擔任性別教育和策展工作。現正就讀於城市大學創意媒體文學士，於不同藝術媒介之間游走、流動。
陳庭章，香港作曲家。現在以製作自動化工業機器維生。喜歡喝伯爵茶，看鐵甲奇俠。近來醉心菲林攝影。
