The event includes an in depth look at the instruments built by the duo, including the electromagnetic triplet - the Chromaplane, the Chromie, and the Breeze Block - with a chance to try these out in person. They will be sharing their reflections on instrument design, tools employed in the process, sound experimentation and composition approaches.

活動將深入介紹這對組合自行打造的樂器,包括電磁三重奏——Chromaplane、Chromie,以及 Breeze Block——並提供現場親身試玩的機會。他們亦將分享對樂器設計的思考、製作過程中使用的工具、聲音實驗,以及其作曲方法。

DIY Turntable Workshop

In this experimental turntablism workshop, participants design and build their own custom turntables using Arduino-controlled stepper motors, opening up a radically expanded vocabulary of rotational sound. Instead of relying on fixed RPMs, attendees program speed modulations, direction changes, micro-gestures, and irregular orbits, transforming the turntable into a live, composable instrument. By the end, each participant leaves with a playable kinetic sound tool.
This workshop is kindly assisted by artist Kin Lam.

在這個實驗性的轉盤工作坊中,參加者將使用由 Arduino 控制的步進馬達設計並組裝自己的特製唱盤,開啟一套被大幅擴展的旋轉聲音語彙。與其依賴固定轉速(RPM),參加者能透過編程調節速度變化、方向轉換、微動作以及不規則軌道,讓唱盤轉化為一件可現場操控、可作曲的樂器。工作坊結束時,每位參加者都能帶著一件可演奏的動能聲響工具離開。
本工作坊將由藝術家林建霖協助進行。

Join curator Ya-Tien Shih (Taiwan) for the presentation of her new artist’s book, Scenes in a Box. The publication documents Put’em in a Box, a year-long experimental project with five international artists that explored how intangible sound can be
captured, translated, and archived into reproducible, visual forms.
Following the presentation, participating artist Po-hao Chi will lead a workshop, "Soundscape of Broadcasting," demonstrating soundscape creation through radio and shortwave transmission as detailed in the book. Shih and Chi will then be joined by Mandy Chan (soundpocket) and Jaren Ng (Asia Art Archive) for a discussion on publications as an essential approach to archiving sound art practices, with features of related publications around the region.

策展人施雅恬(台灣)將會分享新出版的藝術家書籍《盒中風景》。本出版品記錄了一項為期一年的實驗性計畫《我們把它都裝在一個盒子裡》,與五位分別來自不同城市的藝術家共同探討如何將無形的聲音捕捉、轉譯並存檔成可重現的視覺形式。
在書籍介紹之後,參與藝術家紀柏豪將主持工作坊「廣播聲景」(Soundscape of Broadcasting),示範如何正如書中所詳述般透過無線電與短波傳輸創作聲景。施雅恬與紀柏豪將與陳希雯(聲音掏腰包)及吳致寧(亞洲藝術文獻庫)一同參與座談,討論出版物作為聲音藝術實踐存檔的重要途徑,並介紹港台相關出版品的特色。
